Listeria could pose a serious risk to young children, older people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

So far, the company has not received any reports of anyone getting ill.

The FDA spotted the potential contamination during a routine test and has suspended distribution while the source of contamination is investigated.

The company said anyone who has the product should throw it away or return it to the store where it was bought for a full refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company Monday to Friday at 908-290-3061.
