“It was a hot July day, came back home, next thing I know I was in the hospital, and my wife and my doctors were telling me I had to get surgery, that I had cardiac arrest,” Goddard said.

Goddard said his wife Carissa Goddard’s training that she completed at her school saved his life.

“And my wife had done CPR for eight minutes and first responders, medic, had done AED and got my heart going again and so after that, I had surgery, obviously open-heart surgery,” Goddard said.
