One person dead after shooting at Durham shopping center, suspect in custody

Police said a man has died after a shooting at a shopping center in south Durham on Thursday.

Officers arrived sometime around 4:45 p.m. at the shopping center along South Miami Boulevard. A man was pronounced dead. One person was taken into custody. It is unclear if the two knew each other. 

Officers were investigating the interior of a Randy's Pizza location at the shopping center. On social media, the restaurant said that the location would be closed until further notice.

Several Durham police cars were parked in the parking lot. The circumstances surrounding what led to the shooting are not known.
