Man dead after being shot in Fayetteville apartment complex, deputies say

A man is dead after being shot in a Fayetteville apartment complex early Saturday morning, deputies said. 

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a shooting call just after midnight Saturday at Dwelle Drive. 

When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification. 

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation. Deputies said this shooting was not a random incident, and there is no threat to the public.
