A man was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputy on Wednesday.

According the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, the deputy was responding to a missing person call on Cabrini Court when he hit a man walking on Clinton Road.

Deputies said the man was wearing dark clothing. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is expected to be OK.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant J. Shaw at 910-486-1334.
