According to the post, Sgt. Burton arrived with a pair of trauma shears from her patrol kit to help, giving the pup what officers called a “much-needed haircut.” Afterward, Snyder gave the dog food and made some phone calls.

Officer O’Conner arrived shortly after and took the dog home for a bath and a visit to the vet. Officers said O’Conner gave the dog a meal and showered him with “some long-overdue kindness.”

For now, O’Conner intends to foster the dog.
