Car crashes into power pole on Tryon Road, leaving customers without electricity

A car crashed into a power pole near Tryon Road and Gorman Street in Raleigh, leaving hundreds of customers in the area without power early Friday. 

Duke Energy crews were on the scene trying to fix the pole at 6 a.m. They are currently blocking one lane of Tryon Road. Repairs are expected to take until at least 8:30 a.m., a Duke Energy spokesperson told WRAL. 

In addition to about 200 power outages for nearby residents, traffic lights are also out nearby.
