They are open to the public. People can register to attend the sessions to guarantee a spot ahead of time, but registration isn't required.
Green and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education will use feedback from the listening sessions to generate a strategic plan that includes goals, initiatives and accountability measures.
The forums will be held at 6 p.m. at the following dates and places:
- March 17 at Tuscola High School in Waynesville
- March 18 at Hibriten High School in Lenior
- March 24 at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem
- March 26 at Harold E. Winkler Middle School in Concord
- March 27 at Westover High School in Fayetteville
- March 31 at John J. Blair Elementary School in Wilmington
- April 7 at Northern High School in Durham
- April 9 at Northeastern High School in Elizabeth City
Last month, Green launched his "Mo Wants to Know" campaign soliciting feedback online. People can still submit comments to the superintendent via that webpage.
