This weekend's snow was historic for parts of North Carolina's coast.

The National Weather Service in Newport, N.C., reported a snow depth of 15 inches and multiple snow drifts.

The National Weather Service in Spokane posted on X, "Our friends along the North Carolina coast picked up more snow in one storm than Spokane has seen all winter. Spokane is sitting at just 14 inches for the season (18.9 inches below normal)."

Morehead City reported 13 inches of snow, and Emerald Isle reported 10 inches. New Bern got 17 inches of snow.

The Outer Banks reported blizzard conditions and some wind gusts over 60 mph.

Myrtle Beach got 6 inches. Wilmington reported less snow than those areas, but more than 5 inches was still impressive.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington posted: "Biggest snowfall in almost 40 years, since the big 1989 snowstorm! Our official snowfall total for ILM as of 7am is 5.8 inches which ranks 13th in snow events for Wilmington."

The last time eastern North Carolina received a foot or more of snow was March 1980 for some areas and December 1989 for other areas along the coast.
