Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $800M for next drawing
The Mega Millions jackpot will be an estimated $800 million for Tuesday's drawing.
If someone matches the five winning numbers and mega ball, they will have the option of taking home $401.8 million in cash or stretch out their winnings over 20 years for a total $800 million.

This is the seventh highest jackpot in Mega Millions history. The top six have all been worth more than $1 billion.
How to increase your odds of winning a huge lottery jackpot
The last jackpot, which was $552 million, was won in Ilionois on June 4. Since then, there have been over 20 million winning tickets sold for non-jackpot prizes including 57 tickets that won $1 million or more, according to the Mega Million website.
Of the two Mega Millions jackpots have been won so far this year, only one was claimed. The $1.128 billion prize in New Jersey remains unclaimed. Winners have one year from that drawing to claim their prize.
The Mega Millions drawing airs live on WRAL-TV just before the 11 o'clock news.
