Fayetteville police are asking for help after a man was seriously injured during a shooting on Thursday.

Officers were called just after 4 p.m. to reports of a shooting on School Street. When police arrived, officers and emergency medical services found a man who had been shot.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.  Officers said detectives with the department's Crimes Against Persons (CAPERS) unit are investigating the shooting.
