An earthquake shook parts of South Carolina on Thursday afternoon.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a 3.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded over Lake Murray at 12:17 p.m. and could be felt across Lexington and Richland counties.

Hannah Hite, of Irmo, South Carolina, shared a video of the earthquake with WRAL News.
In the video, you can see the camera shake for a second, waking up a cat lying on the back of a chair in the living room.
Other people commented on social media saying, "[it] shook my home and heard the rumble! Knew it was an earthquake right away!! Wow!" and "[it] shook my whole office. Walls rattled, monitors were shaking and definitely felt that one through my feet. Loud one too."
This isn't the first earthquake felt in this area this month.
A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was reported on Feb. 13, a 1.9 magnitude on Feb. 15 and a 1.8 magnitude on Feb. 16, according to the USGS website.
