North Carolina coach Bill Belichick has already set one school record — and the Tar Heels have yet to play a game.
The Tar Heels announced Wednesday that they have sold out each home football game this season. The school previously announced it had sold out of its allotment of 20,000 season tickets. Now each individual ticket has been sold.

UNC said it is the earliest that all tickets for the season have been sold out. UNC opens its season on Sept. 1, Labor Day night, against TCU.
Belichick, who won six Super Bowl titles as the head coach of the New England Patriots, has never coached in college. But UNC hired the 73-year-old in December in hopes of boosting its sagging football program and driving additional revenue for its athletics department.
Belichick signed a five-year, $50-million contract. The first three years are guaranteed.
“We wanted, when we hired Coach Belichick, to bring Carolina football to another level,” Chancellor Lee Roberts told WRAL earlier this year.
He said the school was seeing response from fans, sponsors and marketing.
“We’re delighted about all the attention being paid to Carolina football, and we’re excited to see the season,” Roberts said.
Belichick’s relationship with 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson has made national headlines. ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips said the league’s television partners “ran to us” after the Belichick hire. Several networks have negotiated with Belichick for a documentary series.
Belichick and several Tar Heel players, including quarterback Gio Lopez, will participate in the ACC Kickoff event in Charlotte on Thursday.
“A lot of respect for Coach Belichick, he’s one of the best to have ever done it,” Florida State coach Mike Norvell said Wednesday at the league’s annual football preview event. “I know it’s a new transition and a new place. He’s not coached in the college ranks and for just some of the stuff he’s getting to do now. He adds a great perspective into that room when we meet as head coaches. I know it’s definitely new for him, but I’m sure he’ll do an outstanding job.”
In addition to TCU, UNC hosts Richmond (Sept. 13, 3:30 p.m.), Clemson (Oct. 4), Virginia (Oct. 25), Stanford (Nov. 8) and Duke (Nov. 22).
