The town of Cary announced in May it would sell the property the current town hall rests on for the urban center. Since then, developers from across the country have lined up to pitch their proposals.
The development would be on the land where Cary Town Hall resides. So far, 18 developers across the country have reached out since the town announced the land would be for sale in May.

If you've ever walked through the streets of downtown Cary around dusk, you've likely heard the brassy tones of Larry Kingsley's trumpet echoing down Academy Street.
Downtown Cary is the last place you'd expect to find a miniature Redwood Forest - but tucked away behind Town Hall is a secret world of Dawn Redwoods with fluted trunks and rippling roots - striking red against a hillside curtained with green ivy.
Construction on a major route will change the traffic pattern in and around downtown Cary over the next month.
"There's not a lot of retail space in our downtown. The only way to create more is to build more," said Cary Economic Development Director Ted Boyd.
With everything from a skywalk over botanical gardens, to cozy fire pits for s'mores, dancing water features and giant cardinals for kids to climb inside, the expanded Downtown Park plans to be unlike anything currently available in the Triangle area.
Cary's popular Spring Daze arts festival will look a little different this year, as the town hosts four consecutive arts markets throughout the month of May in celebration of the town's 150-year anniversary.

In the past few months, Downtown Cary has been full of surprises. Colorful murals and glowing art installations have been appearing around town, and on Easter Sunday yet another surprise mural appeared.
