Authorities have also warned visitors to stay away from the collapse site between Atlantic Drive and G.A. Kohler Court.

The previous eight homes collapsed between Tuesday and Thursday in Buxton, with five of the homes collapsing in 24 hours.

The homes collapsed due to dangerous surf conditions caused by Hurricane Imelda. While Imelda never made landfall in North Carolina, its outer bands caused rain to reach as far inland as the Triangle.

Authorities have been working to clean up the debris from the homes that could leave a toxic mess along the Outer Banks.

Authorities said they plan to begin initial cleanup of the Rondathe home on Saturday.
