"During testing, we found that when the seat is used rear-facing, the seat may shift from one recline position to another," the company said. "There have been no reports of injuries, and the car seat will continue to provide protection to an occupant in the event of a crash."

Evenflo said that "parents and caregivers may continue to use the car seat, including in rear-facing mode. However, when the seat is used rear-facing, it is prudent to take care to prevent any passenger from inserting their fingers into the recline mechanism."

Families with impacted seats who have registered their product will be contacted directly and offered an equivalent replacement car seat at no cost. Those who have not yet registered can do so at https://www.evenflo.com/pages/product-registration receive updates and next steps.
