The festival replaces the IBMA World of Bluegrass Festival, which ended its decade-long run in Raleigh last year after raking in about $88 million dollars for Raleigh over the last 10 years.

Plans were already in place to bring a new "Americana-style" festival to the City of Oaks in 2025, and Raleigh Wide Open makes it official.

Vendor applications for the event are now open, and a schedule will soon be posted online.

The free, family-friendly event will feature food, an art market and multiple stages in City Plaza and along Davie and Martin streets.
