Tar Heel Traveler: Battle of Moore's Creek

Friday is the 250th anniversary of a pivotal Revolutionary War battle. It happened in Pender County on Feb. 27th, 1776, and this weekend, thousands of people are expected to visit the battlefield. Curiously, for the battle to be such a major turning point in the war, its focal point was nothing but a small, lonesome bridge
