Summer Lovin' Happened So Fast

Why does summer seem so short and by golly, winter sooo long? There are so many great Rom-Coms (Romantic Comedies) out right now, please give yourself permission to indulge in a sweet escape as we go into Labor Day weekend. This new genre has some really well written and escapist books you are bound to enjoy.
Here are some of our very favorites.
Other WRAL Top Stories
First off is the incredibly talented Kennedy Ryan, who lives in the Triangle! We send signed copies of her books all over the world and for good reason.. She is the daughter of a local pastor, who may find the spice level to be a bit much, but her books have storylines that have been ripped from the headlines and there is always some high heat. Check out her books here, where signed copies are available.
Another one of our most popular authors is Tessa Bailey. She recently came to the store after having numerous travel disasters, she was so gracious. Her tagline is "Heat, Laughter and Happily Ever After" and she lives up to it. If you like sports with romance check out The Au Pair Affair featuring hockey. For a list of her fun books check out this link for signed copies.
Abby Jimenez was a Food Network Champion before she became a top romance writer. She is popular with young and old. Her stories are relatable and encourage us to find a second chance in love. Find her books here.
Now to the experts: I am lucky enough to have 3 avid romance readers on staff at Page 158 Books: Nyawira, Shannon and Brooke.
Nyawira highly recommends The Five Stages of Courting Dalisay Ramos by Melissa de la Cruz. She says it is hilarious in its depiction of the 5 stages of love, who knew there was such a thing? This is multi-generational and a mixing of business and pleasure. It is a page turner.
Shannon loves Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young. "Win" is an independent strong lady, despite being without a limb. Against everything she has always done, she has a one night stand at a Halloweeen party, which ends in a pregnancy. She befriends the man and they start a platonic relationship as parents. This will leave you thinking long after the book is done.
Brooke read and loved Daydream by Hannah Grace. Hannah also wrote the popular Icebreaker, and this is the 3rd novel in the Maple Hill Series, which has been huge. Henry is a procrastinator and isn't doing well in his studies when he accidentally drops in on Halle's book club. Can they make it as friends or more...this is perfect for people looking for nostalgia to their highschool days, parents of highschool kids and young adults.

I once heard a famous author speak, and she said that she had walked into a bookstore and asked for the romance section and was ridiculed. This is not ok.
Read what you want, when you need it. Listening to books, reading online, and graphic novels are all books and they count for your better overall living. Check out Libro.fm, and Page 158 Books for more recommendations
